Niverville Nighthawks Head Strength & Conditioning Coach, Rob Pambrun, has been selected to attend Winnipeg Jets Development Camp as a guest coach.

The current Nighthawks coach will lend a hand to the National Hockey League club from June 30 – July 4 at Hockey For All Centre in Winnipeg. Pambrun shared how the opportunity came up and how he will be involved.

“It all started at the MJHL Showcase when I spoke with a staff member from the Winnipeg Jets organization who had heard about the in-season and off-season work I do with my training business (Team Prep Starz & TPS Hockey Academy). This eventually led to an invitation for me to attend Winnipeg Jets Development Camp.”

“It’s a great opportunity for myself to learn and assist the Winnipeg Jets staff with their on-ice and off-ice fitness testing and workouts,” Pambrun explained. “I’m looking forward to the experience. It’s encouraging for me to know that the work I have been putting into training and developing players is being recognized which is very rewarding for myself.”

Not only is Pambrun a current coach in the league, but he also spent time as a player with the Portage Terriers, Southeast Blades, and Winnipeg Saints, which he says gave him a good outlook on the game.

“Playing in the league gave me a glimpse into what it’s like to play hockey full-time. Now as a coach in the MJHL, I’m showing the players the level of dedication it takes to keep moving up the ranks. It takes more than just showing up to the rink to play hockey. Off-season training and development, proper nutrition, and active recovery are all key steps for maximizing performance,” Pambrun concluded.
