Pair of MJHL alumni sign AHL contracts

A pair of former MJHL standouts have signed their first professional contracts in the American Hockey League (AHL).

On Tuesday, Justin Lee (Virden Oil Capitals 2017-18) joined the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins after spending four years at Denver University (NCAA D1). Lee was a part of the 2021-22 National Championship winning team before completing his senior season as captain of the Pioneers.

During his time in Virden, Lee earned his commitment to Denver and was named an MJHL Rookie Team All-Star along with being voted as the MJHL’s Rookie of the Year.

Just a day before Lee signed with the Pittsburgh Penguins top affiliate, former Steinbach Pistons goaltender, Matt Radomsky (Steinbach Pistons 2016-19) joined the Calgary Wranglers after four years of NCAA D1 hockey.

Radomsky split seasons between Holy Cross (2019-2022) and Alaska Fairbanks (2022-23) where he played 98 career games. In a Pistons uniform, Radomsky was a Turnbull Cup Champion in 2017-18 before he was named an MJHL First Team All-Star the following season (2018-19).

In 2018-19, the Winnipeg native was also selected to Team Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge where he helped his team to a bronze medal.
