Pistons’‎ Gaber wins gold with Canada West

Second time was the charm for Riese Gaber, who won a gold medal with Team Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge at Truro,  NS.

Gaber, 18, was thrilled with the gold medal, as he was one of a handful of returnees to the WJAC. He will now finally get to introduce himself to his Steinbach Piston teammates — he was traded by Dauphin only days before the WJAC.

“I’m really looking forward to playing for the Pistons,” Gaber told the MJHL. “They have a good group; I know a few of the guys.”

Meanwhile, Team Canada West ended the tournament on a high note, considering the team was 0-2 in round-robin play.
