PISTONS TAKE PART IN MOVEMBER

Submitted by Steinbach Pistons

The Pistons are once again taking part in the fight against cancer this ‘Movember’.

The Movember campaign was started back 15 years ago, and it’s an initiative to raise money and awareness for men’s health issues such as prostate and testicular cancer.

Last year, the Pistons players who grew out mustaches raised $1,600 for men’s health. This season, the organization is going bigger and better. Tomorrow night, the Pistons will be hosting the Winkler Flyers at the TG Smith Centre in a special Movember game presented by Clearview Co-op.

The Pistons will be wearing special edition purple Movember jerseys during the game. All of the fans will have a chance to take the jersey off the player’s back after the game by bidding on your favorite Piston player’s jersey before and during the game. All of the proceeds during the jersey auction will go straight to Cancer Care Manitoba.

If you would like to donate to the Pistons’ cause, go to ca.movember.com, click ‘Donate’ at the top right hand corner of the home page, search Steinbach Pistons and donate. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against cancer.
