The hottest team to start 2023, the Oil Caps have won 6 of their last 7 to get back into the playoff hunt. Still have work to do but have games in hand on every team but one in the MGEU West Division.

Entrenched in a 3-way tie for top spot in the MGEU West Division. Big two game road trip over the weekend. 5th highest win % in the MJHL.

Just two points back of first while four points clear of the playoff floor. In the last two games they’ve scored 8 goals while giving up just 2. Lead the MJHL in overtime wins with 6.

This Week: 2-1-0-1 (finished suspended game vs Portage)
Overall: 22-14-2-3
Impressive Player – Darik Feasey – 4GP/2G/1A/3PTS
Right in the thick of things bouncing back after a tough stretch. OCN leads the MGEU Division in goals with 140, goal differential at +20 and is second penalty minutes with 678.

Within a stick length of top spot of the MGEU East Division after the teams ahead couldn’t run away despite having games in hand. Flyers have the 3rd highest win % in the league at .675.

Overall: 28-8-1-1

Slowly and steadily finding their way and now sit atop the MJHL standings. One goal off the most in the league having put 158 pucks in the net through 38 games.

Atop the MGEU West Division having played less games then all but one team in the Division. Goal scoring has been a struggle of late having scored 3 or more goals just three times in the last 8 games.

Doing all they can to keep pace in the division. Have scored 12 goals in last 4 games while surrendering 7 in that span. Just two points up on the team behind them and also have played four more games.

Gutsy overtime win has them 2-1 through their 5-game road trip. Odds are long they can battle back but the resolve shown after such a tough start is a cause for optimism.

A so-so month has Winnipeg hanging around that final playoff spot in the MGEU East Division but they can’t squander points going forward. Six overtime losses so far lead the division.

Much needed win for a young club that continues to be one of the hardest work groups in the province. Scoring will always be tough to come by but never cheat the staff or fans on effort.

Overall: 19-17-1-2
Impressive Player: Defenseman Desmond Johnson – 2GP/1G/1A/2PTS
A bit of a dip in play has let the club chasing them for the 4th spot in the MGEU East Division catch up a bit. Still hold their own fate. Finding ways to score when things tighten up even more will be key.
