(-) 1st – Winkler Flyers

This Week: 1-0
Overall: 7-0
Impressive Player: Jayce Legaarden – 1 goal, 3 assists in 1 game
Undefeated and ranked number 1 in the CJHL Top 20. The top team in the league has had plenty of time to sharpen skills during a lighter part of the schedule but it’s about to really ramp up with 5 games over 9 days. The players will welcome the game action.

(-) 2nd – Dauphin Kings

This Week: 1-0
Overall: 6-1
Impressive Player: Trey Gnetz – 1 goal in 1 game
It’s not about how sometimes, it’s about how many. The Kings are tops in the West and have played the least number of games. They also have the second-best goal differential in the league at +14.

(-) 3rd – Steinbach Pistons

This Week: 2-0
Overall: 7-2
Impressive Player: Brady Ingebritson – 1 goal, 3 assists in 2 games
Solid performances on the recent road trip may be the launching pad for the Pistons. Goal scoring has picked up and goals against are down. But, as a team, they need to stay out of the penalty box as they’re tied for the most times shorthanded at 47.

(-1) 5th – Niverville Nighthawks

This Week: 2-1
Overall: 6-2-1
Impressive Player: Carson Teckenburg – 1 goal, 2 assists in 2 games
A solid three-game winning streak was snapped but despite the loss, the Nighthawks can takeaway a lesson in how to defend a lead. They held 2-0, 3-2 and 4-3, leads but watched them all slip before eventually surrendering four straight goals against. A good team that will learn from the experience.

(-1) 6th – Portage Terriers

This Week: 1-1
Overall: 4-3-1-1
Impressive Player: Slade Stanick – 1 goal, 4 assists in 2 games
A mainly positive homestand with only one game where they didn’t pick up at least a point. Good to take care of business at home with key players starting to really heat up. Scary team when the offence is rolling.

(+1) 7th – Waywayseecappo Wolverines

This Week: 2-2
Overall: 5-5
Impressive Player: Sean Williams – 4 goals, 2 assists in 3 games
About a wild of turnarounds as a team will see in a season. The Wolverines came out like a lion then were bit hard by a bigger beast. Through this four-game stretch, they scored 18 goals while allowing 19. They’ve played 6 games this month and still have 7 to go.

(+1) 8th – Winnipeg Blues

This Week: 1-1
Overall: 3-4
Impressive Player: Dawson Zeller – 2 goals in 2 games
Putting points in the bank the games they should but need to find a way to limit goals against some of the top dogs in the league if they hope to get where they want to go. A middle ranked penalty kill and lower ranked power play will need to find improve.

(-2) 9th – Neepawa Titans

This Week: 0-1-1
Overall: 4-5-1
Impressive Player: Mason Lobreau
Really good response after being blown out to push the top team in the division into overtime. Strong goaltending is giving the team a chance to find their scoring touch. Hanging around, picking up points along the way will keep them right in the thick of things all season.
Up Next: Oct. 21st @ Swan Valley, *Oct. 23rd @ Winkler, *Oct. 25th vs Steinbach

(+1) 10th – OCN Blizzard

This Week: 1-0-0-1
Overall: 3-4-0-1
Impressive Player: Keenan McNeill – 4 goals in 2 games
Starting to find their stride and loving life at the Roy H. Johnston arena. The Blizzard have a good mix of young, dynamic players paired with strong veterans. With some tough games set for on the road, the team has a chance to make a statement and climb the standings.

(-1) 11th – Selkirk Steelers

This Week: 0-1-1
Overall: 2-6-1
Impressive Player: Joel Purdom – 2 assists in 2 games
One out of a possible four points is not the results the Steelers were looking for but there were positives to take away. Outshot their opponent heavily in the first game but couldn’t follow it up the next night. Will look to snap a three-game losing streak before it gets out of hand.

(-) 12th – Swan Valley Stampeders

This Week: 1-2
Overall: 3-6
Impressive Player: Landen Gulutzan – 1 goal, 2 assists in 2 games
Showing signs of improvement on the backend and in goal. While the start may feel slow, the team is better than their record indicates and with the talent, it’s a matter of time until they find their stride. A must improve area is how many shots they give up per-game.
Up Next: Oct. 20th @ Virden, Oct. 21st vs Neepawa, *Oct. 23rd @ Selkirk, *Oct. 24th vs WPG Freeze

(-) 13th – Winnipeg Freeze

This Week: 0-2
Overall: 0-6-1
Impressive Player: Jayden Ward – 2 assists in 2 games
Still unable to grab ahold of that elusive first win. The team has taken positive steps and eventually, that will lead to results. For now, it’s about having patience in believing in what they’re doing will work. Can be a frustrating road to walk down for many in and around the organization.
