(+1) 1st – Steinbach Pistons

This Week: 4-0-1
Overall: 11-2-1
Impressive Player: Brandon Funk – 6 goals, 3 assists in 5 games
Overall, a solid month of October where the club picked up at least a point in 9 out of 10 games including their last 8 in a row. Second in the MJHL with 59 goals scored. A weekend heavy November will give time to rest, coach and fine tune.
Up Next: Nov. 3rd @ WPG Freeze, Nov. 4th vs Swan Valley

(+1) 2nd – Dauphin Kings

This Week: 4-1
Overall: 10-2
Impressive Player: Anthony Bax – 3 goals, 4 assists in 5 games
Coming off perhaps their most impressive win of the season, a come from behind shootout win against the top ranked team in the CJHL, the Kings doubled down by scoring 14 goals in their next two contests. Major upcoming battle in Virden Saturday.
Up Next: Nov. 3rd vs Waywayseecappo, Nov. 4th @ Virden, Nov.7th @ Neepawa

(+1) 3rd – Virden Oil Capitals

This Week: 5-1
Overall: 10-4-1
Impressive Player: Nolan Chastko – 7 goals, 5 assists in 6 games
After exploding for 27 goals in three games, the Oil Caps have had to grind out some offense which will serve the team well in the long run. Massive statement possible on Saturday vs Dauphin. 5 of the next 8 are at Tundra Oil and Gas Place.
Up Next: Nov. 4th vs Dauphin

(-3) 4th – Winkler Flyers

This Week: 3-1-0-1
Overall: 10-1-0-1
Impressive Player: Zach Nicolas – 4 goals, 2 assists in 5 games
The undefeated streak came to an end but the way it did is still encouraging, refusing to roll over and pushing right to the end. A nice rebound effort at home as well will keep the vibes high for a team about to have 5 straight on the road and 7 of their next 9 away from cozy confines.
Up Next: Nov. 3rd @ WPG Blues, Nov. 4th vs WPG Freeze

(+1) 5th – Portage Terriers

This Week: 4-1-0-1
Overall: 6-2-1
Impressive Player: Daniel Siso – 3 goals, 3 assists in 6 games
Finding their stride as the Dogs are barking and fighting their way up the MGEU East standings. Winners of 4 straight and points in 10 of 11. Good think they’re starting to roll as they will be one of the busiest teams in November with 12 games, 8 of which are road contests.
Up Next: Nov. 1st vs WPG Blues, Nov. 3rd @ Niverville, Nov. 5th @ Waywayseecappo, Nov. 8th vs Niverville

(-1) 6th – Niverville Nighthawks

This Week: 4-2
Overall: 10-4-1
Impressive Player: Brett Tataryn – 4 goals, 4 assists in 6 games
Should be higher on the list coming off impressive performances at the MJHL Showcase. The only losses have come against similar power-house teams. Big homestand at the end of November could be used to bank a bunch of points pushing any teams chasing way back in the rearview mirror, maybe for good.
Up Next: Nov. 3rd vs Portage, Nov. 4th @ Selkirk, Nov. 8th @ Portage

(+3) 7th – OCN Blizzard

This Week: 3-2-0-1
Overall: 6-6-0-2
Impressive Player: Sebastian Hamming – 2 goals, 4 assists in 6 games
Proved they are never out of any game. They’ve pushed the top teams in the league and even when they’ve fallen short, they’ve left an impression. Will look to use an upcoming 6 game home-stand to dial in on details and grow the number in the win column.
Up Next: Nov. 3rd vs Neepawa, Nov. 4th vs Neepawa, Nov. 7th vs Swan Valley

(+5) 8th – Winnipeg Freeze

This Week: 3-4
Overall: 4-10-1
Impressive Player: Kylow Monkman – 4 goals, 3 assists in 7 games
The team has always had buy in but now they’re starting to get results. Known as a hardworking team that couldn’t catch a break, the league is now on notice that if they’re not taken seriously, they will find a way to grind things out and take points away. However, two lopsided losses show the team still have things to learn.
Up Next: Nov. 3rd vs Steinbach, Nov. 4th vs Winkler

(-2) 9th – Waywayseecappo Wolverines

This Week: 3-3-0-1
Overall: 8-8-0-1
Impressive Player: Jack Clarke – 3 goals, 4 assists in 5 games
Right in the middle to this point, beating the teams they should beat but not getting over the hump against the top teams. The talent is there to be dangerous. Grinding out a 13-game month and now have a lighter November, just 9 games with 6 being at home. Need to take advantage.
Up Next: Nov. 3rd @ Dauphin, Nov. 5th vs Portage

(-1) 10th – Neepawa Titans

This Week: 1-0-0-1
Overall: 2-3
Impressive Player: Cooper Kasprick – 2 goals, 2 assists in 5 games
More downs than ups throughout the month but a massive goal-scoring output in their last game should boost the confidence of the group. The biggest takeaway from the Showcase was how strong the Titans are in goal. They can keep them in games until they can find a way to help the tenders.
Up Next: Nov. 3rd @ Blizzard, Nov. 4th @ Blizzard, Nov. 7th vs Dauphin

(-) 11th – Selkirk Steelers

This Week: 1-3
Overall: 3-9-1
Impressive Player: Mathieu Moreira – 2 goals, 1 assist in 4 games.
Came within a few seconds of forcing overtime in their final Showcase game and that’s been the story of the year at times, just missing out on a point here, a point there. Battling every game and the big guns are starting to fire which is key for a club wanting to make a push in a busy month.
Up Next: Nov. 3rd vs Swan Valley, Nov. 4th vs Niverville, Nov. 7th @ WPG Blues

(-4) 12th – Winnipeg Blues

This Week: 1-5
Overall: 4-9
Impressive Player: Carter Demelo – 2 goals, 2 assists in 5 games
Not a lot has gone right for the team of late, losing six straight. Goal scoring has been an issue as they’ve potted more than 4 goals in just two games all season. 11 games in November will give them a chance to get some momentum and carry it over if not in points, in valuable experience.
Up Next: Nov. 1st @ Portage, Nov. 3rd vs Winkler, Nov. 5th vs Swan Valley, Nov. 7th vs Selkirk

(-1) 13th – Swan Valley Stampeders

This Week: 0-6
Overall: 3-11-1
Impressive Player: Jakob Jones – 2 goals, 2 assists in 6 games
Simply put, it’s been a disaster of late. 8 straight losses where the team has scored more than 3 goals just once. The good news is, it’s still early. 5 of the next 9 games are against the other division and the team needs to find a way to bank at least a point in those games. Critical to keep pace in a tight division.
Up Next: Nov. 3rd @ Selkirk, Nov. 4th @ Steinbach, Nov. 5th @ WPG Blues, Nov. 7th @ Blizzard
