Winnipeg Blues’ ownership transfer approved: MJHL

The Manitoba Junior Hockey League is pleased to introduce the new owners of the Winnipeg Blues. Recently, a Winnipeg group known as 50 Below Sports + Entertainment Inc. negotiated a Purchase Agreement with the current owners of the Winnipeg Blues headed by Mr. Tom Kleysen and Mr. Dave Morris.

On March 30, the MJHL Board of Governors unanimously approved a Motion to transfer the ownership of the Winnipeg Blues from the current owners to 50 Below Sports + Entertainment Inc. led by Chairman Greg Fettes. Matt Cockell will assume the role of President and Governor and Ryan Cyr will act as the Alternate Governor for the Winnipeg Blues.

The MJHL Board approval of the ownership transfer allows the two parties to finalize their sale transaction which is expected promptly.
Under its new ownership, the Winnipeg Blues will practice and play its games at The Rink Training Centre located at 57 South Landing Drive, Oak Bluff, MB beginning in September 2019. The Rink Training Centre will be a focal point for the continued development and training of hockey players in the MJHL and the province including the Winnipeg ICE, Winnipeg Blues, Rink Hockey Academy, Rink Player Development and Testify Performance.
