Sam Zagari tucked home a rebound at the mouth of the net to record the game winner with 39 seconds left in game five, sending the Blizzard home with a 3-2 series lead and a chance to book their spot in the Turnbull Cup Playoff Final. After Trey Sauder and Marlen Edwards exchanged goals in the opening periods, it looked like these two clubs were destined for extra time before Riley See and Sam Zagari connected on the winner. The series shifts back to The Pas on Monday night when the Blizzard will have a chance to reach the MJHL Final for the first time since 2017.

Penner’s double overtime winner lifts Flyers to brink of advancing | Flyers Lead Series 3-2
The Winkler Flyers gave their sold out home crowd something to cheer about early in the second when Zach Nicolas sniped his 3rd of the postseason. No more than five minutes later, Grady Lane found the back of the net on his 4th of the playoffs to lock the game at 1-1 heading into the third. After a scoreless third, the Flyers and Oil Capitals required overtime for a second straight game. It took until the second overtime period when Trent Penner scored the game winner, lifting the Flyers to a 3-2 series lead and an opportunity to advance to the MJHL Final for the first time since 2002.
