Logan Calder commits to Salve Regina University

Dauphin Kings forward, Logan Calder has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey at Salve Regina University this fall.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound winger from Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, joined Dauphin later in the 2021-22 season and scored 6 goals and 16 assists in 22 games before helping lead the Kings to the MJHL Championship where he added 7 goals and 7 assists in the playoffs.

Calder added 2 goals and 2 assists in 5 games at the Centennial Cup where the Kings fell in the National Semi-final to Pickering (OJHL).

Prior to joining the Kings, Calder spent the previous 152 games in the MJHL with his hometown Portage Terriers where he scored 45 goals and 52 assists. In Calder’s rookie season (2018-19) he helped the Terriers to an MJHL Championship and ANAVET Cup victory.

Calder was named the Portage Terriers RBC-MJHL Community Ambassador award winner for his commitment to giving back in his local community during the 2021-22 season prior to joining the Kings.

The Salve Regina University Seahawks play NCAA Division III hockey in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference out of Newport, Rhode Island.
