The Waywayseecappo Wolverines are seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of Director, Marketing & Communications on a full-time basis.
Reporting directly to the Head Coach & General Manager, the Director of Marketing & Communications is responsible for the management and development of the organization’s strategic marketing plan.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for prospecting, selling, cultivating, maintaining and renewing sponsorships, advertising, corporate partnerships, and season ticket holders
Responsible for coordinating and executing corporate partnership fulfillment
Lead game-day operations and in-game promotions
Manage and work with current game day volunteers to ensure all aspects of a Wolverines home game are ran smoothly
Manage website, social media, and image of the team by consistently creating fresh and exciting content for fans of the Wolverines
Work closely with hockey operations to develop stories, press releases, trades, and signings to be promoted on social media outlets
Provide event planning management and for team functions and events
Coordinate community initiatives including school visits, volunteer programs, and other public appearances
Build relationships with local organizations in Waywayseecappo and surrounding communities to maximize networking opportunities
Qualifications
Experience in a similar or related field considered an asset
Strong project management skills and writing/editing skills
Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of the MJHL and game of hockey
Highly motivated, takes initiative, and able to work independently on multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to individuals or groups of people
Strong attention to detail
Positive attitude and a strong commitment to the organization
Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required
Compensation: Base Salary + Commission
