MJHL Partners with Winnipeg Police Service

WINNIPEG, MB – The Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) is pleased to announce a new player education partnership for the 2022-23 season with the Winnipeg Police Service.

Beginning this season, the Winnipeg Police – Service Sex Crimes Unit will develop and deliver a presentation to all MJHL teams covering sexual harassment / abuse and consent.

“We are extremely excited to work with the Winnipeg Police Service and members of the Sex Crimes Unit on this initiative this season.  They are experts in this field and will allow the MJHL to provide another very important educational opportunity for all MJHL players / staff,” said Kevin Saurette, MJHL Commissioner.

The Winnipeg Police Service is pleased to partner with the management, coaching staff and players of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.  Community Engagement is one of the cornerstones to building trusting relationships between the Winnipeg Police Service and the citizens we serve.  We look forward to providing educational support and mentorship to these young athletes.”.  The virtual presentations are being planned to take place early into the 2022-23 season and will be delivered to all 13 MJHL organizations.
