MJHL Season Preview | Dauphin Kings

Story by Dave Anthony

Players have made their way to town, exhibition games have begun and coaches are optimistic with sights set high, it’s time to start the new season!

We asked each head coach a number of questions as they prepare for the season and here’s what they had to say!

Dauphin Kings – 2020/21 (3-3-0-0)

Leading scorers: Grady Hobbs (7g, 4ast for 11pts), Charles Massey (7g, 3ast for 10pts)

Key graduating players: Grady Hobbs, Charles Massey, Vincent Nardone

Season outlook: Not since 2011-12 when Jesse Sinatynski scored 59 goals in 60 games has there been a player that could score at that kind of clip. The Kings would have had someone close in Grady Hobbs had there been a full season in 2020/21. While they may not have that kind of scoring punch this year, the Kings look like a balanced, well rounded team with studs Parker Malchuk and Colby Jaquet on the backend. If the Kings can hit on a couple of their lotto tickets they’ve brought in, coupled with the local young guys, this team could be the team to beat in their division.
