The veteran puck-stopper made an astounding 51 saves on the road in Dauphin to help Neepawa pick up a win and pull within two points of a first place tie in the MGEU West Division to kick off 2026.

Schaefer kicked off 2026 with a trio of assists on the Oil Caps’ road trip in The Pas before notching a goal and an assist the following night against Swan Valley to close out the week.
