WINNIPEG, MB – The Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) is excited to announce Patrick Gagnon as the MJHL Director of Officiating.
Effective immediately, all MJHL Director of Officiating activities will be managed by Patrick Gagnon who owns an extensive resume as an on ice official.
Patrick is a Level VI certified official who has been involved in the Hockey Canada Officiating Program (HCOP) since 1999. He began officiating U18 AAA games in 2005 where he worked regional championships as well as the Telus Cup. He began officiating in the MJHL in 2006 where he was selected to officiate at the 2013 and 2014 Western Canada Cups followed by the 2015 RBC Cup (CJHL National Championship) held in Portage. Pat is also a very experienced official at the WHL and U Sports levels.
“We are excited to have Patrick join the MJHL team and he will be a valuable resource for all involved as we continue grow as a league on and off the ice. His extensive background as an on-ice official and his eagerness to grow the MJHL Officiating Program in all areas will be very beneficial to the MJHL going forward,” shared Kevin Saurette, MJHL Commissioner.
The MJHL would also like to recognize outgoing MJHL Director of Officiating, Jody Wielgosh for all of his efforts, dedication and professionalism to the MJHL Officiating Program since 2008. Jody has been invaluable to the MJHL over the past fifteen seasons and will be missed. On behalf of the entire MJHL Community, thank you JODY!
