Special Teams Extra Special As Pistons Even Series | Tied 1-1
Steinbach scored on their lone power play while the penalty kill went a spectacular 7 for 7 which included a shorted 5 on 3 and a late penalty that put them down 6 on 4 in the final minute, helping the Pistons grind out a 4-3 win. Spencer Penner picked up 2 assists but it’s what the 19-year-old does off the scoresheet that makes him elite. Eating major minutes against the Blizzards best, strong defending and key blocked shots short handed, made a major impact. Marlen Edwards showcased his elite scoring prowess cashing in with a pair of goals. Trey Sauders third period goal was the difference as the 20-year-old’s now at 2 game winning goals these playoffs. Both teams will enjoy an extra day off as the series shifts to The Pas for games 3 and 4 on Wednesday and Thursday.
