WINNIPEG, MB –Β The Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) went 1-2 on the opening day of the 2025 MJHL-SJHL Showcase.
In the opening 5-2 loss, Winkler Flyers forward’s, Brody Beauchemin and Nik Gudmundson scored for Team MJHL 20U Red while Liam Ernst stopped 34 of 39 shots.

Matteo Speranza (Niverville), Decker Mujcin (Portage) (x2), and Wyatt Witham (Selkirk) scored for Team MJHL 20U Black in their 9-4 loss. A scoreless first period followed up by a 2-2 tie in the second and a 6-4 deficit in the third ended with Team SJHL 20U White adding three more goals in a six minute stretch.

In the third and final game of the day, Mitchell Kathler stood tall in net, stopping 27 of 29 shots while turning aside another 5 in the shootout. Esteban Cinq-Mars (Norman) and Adam Matar (Winnipeg Blues) scored in regulation while Bryce Bryant (Virden), Owen Warnick (Selkirk), and Remy Hlady (Selkirk) scored in the shootout.
