In 2006, the Portage Terriers hired Blake Spiller as their Head Coach and General Manage. Joining him behind the bench at that time were assistant coach Paul Harland and Goaltending coach Jim Tkachyk.
For the past 12 and a half seasons this coaching staff has remained together through the most successful era in Portage Terrier History.
Under the leadership of this trio, the Terriers have won 7 Manitoba Junior Hockey League Championships, 1 Anavet Cup Championship, and The RBC Cup National Championship here in 2015.
On November 3rd at the their last home game, the Portage Terriers defeated the Selkirk Steelers 6-2.
The victory marked the 500th regular season win for Blake, Paul and Jim.
They now sit at 505 regular season wins and 181 losses for a 736 winning percentage.
At last night’s home game, the Terriers organization recognized the trio’s accomplishment with a presentation of engraved crystals.
We’d like to congratulate and thank Blake, Paul and Jim for their dedication and success as part of the Terriers organization.
