A trio of MJHL alumni from the 2021-22 season have advanced to the United States Hockey League (USHL) in 2022-23.
Carson Buydens and Jordan Hughesman were both named to the Cedar Rapids Roughriders while Jayden Jubenvill secured a spot on the Dubuque Fighting Saints.
Buydens earned his NCAA Division 1 commitment to Princeton last season in Virden and was named MJHL Rookie of the Year and CJHL Rookie of the Year finalist. In 54 games, Buydens scored 27 goals and 26 assists with the Oil Capitals in 2021-22.
Jordan Hughesman earned his NCAA Division 1 commitment to Merrimack last season with the Selkirk Steelers where he was named to the MJHL All-Rookie Team. In his first full season in the MJHL, Hughesman notched 15 goals and 30 assists in 44 games.
Jayden Jubenvill had a breakout season in 2021-22 as a rookie where he played top minutes on a Dauphin Kings team who won the Turnbull Trophy and made their way to the National semifinal at the Centennial Cup in Estevan. The MJHL All-Rookie Team member scored 6 goals, adding 27 assists in 53 games.
