Flying Into Round 2 | Winkler Wins Series 4-1
The Winkler Flyers punched their ticket to round two in front of 1300 fans Saturday night. The best players need to step up when it matters the most and Trent Penner along with Malachi Klassen did exactly that. To their credit, the Terriers never quit and time after time, pushed with everything they had but the Flyers showed incredible resilience finding ways to never let the Terriers get all the way back. Winkler now waits for the outcomes in the MGEU West as they could face Virden, the Blizzard or Dauphin.

Blizzard Buzzing | Blizzard Lead Series 3-2
A pair of first period power play goals had the Roy H. Johnson rocking, helping the home side win their third in a row and put them on the edge of heading to round 2. Ethan Bibeau had a goal and an assist, Adam Belzil had the GWG early in the third period while Tomas Anderson finished with 30 saves. The Kings showed no quit but couldn’t break through late to find the tying goal. Dauphin will look to stave off elimination on Monday night at Credit Union Place.

Tonight – Massive Game Awaits in Virden | Series tied 2-2
Through the first four games of the series it’s been the home team that’s gotten the last laugh at the final buzzer. Virden’s top players have done the bulk of the damage with Josh Lehto leading the league with 8 playoff points along with Bryce Bryant and Trevor Hunt also right near the top with 5 each. Meanwhile, the Titans have been up to the task and answered back with 15 different players registering at least a point. Hayden Stocks leads the way with 4 points through four games. The Titans need to steal one on the road while the Oil Caps will hope to use the energy from a packed building to get them the series lead again. Puck drop in Virden is set for 7:00 pm.
