Wild Second Period Gives Virden Key Win | Virden Leads Series 3-2
5 combined goals in the second period, 4 of which came in a span of 1:36, gave the Oil Caps just enough to win 3-2. Marshall Light had a wonderful game netting the eventual game winner but was a factor all over Tundra Oil and Gas Place. Hayden Stocks notched a pair of helpers for Neepawa while goalie Mason Lobreau was sensational turning away several good scoring chances by the home side. Eric Reid stood tall in the final minute to secure the victory. The home side has won every game in the series so far. Game 6 is in Neepawa Tuesday night.
Tonight – Blizzard Looking To Advance, Kings Looking to Survive | Blizzard Leads Series 3-2
The Blizzard are on the verge of moving on after they’ve collected 3 straight wins to gain the upper hand. Only one game has not been decided by just a single goal and even that game was a two-goal margin. Both goaltenders have been as good or even better than anticipated. The Blizzard blueline has been the difference chipping in with 4 goals to the Kings 1. Specials teams have also been a big factor with the Blizzard scoring 7 of their 15 markers in the series on the man advantage with Dauphin countering with just 3 so far. It could come down to Dauphin’s scoring explosiveness vs Blizzard patience and opportunistic attack. Game 6 from Dauphin has puck drop set for 7:30 pm.
