Former Piston Worrad signs AHL contract with Griffins

Steinbach Pistons alumnus, Drew Worrad has signed his first professional contract with the Grand Rapids Griffins in the American Hockey League.

Worrard spent the 2017-18 season with the Pistons where he enjoyed a standout season and earned his NCAA Division 1 scholarship to Western Michigan.

During his season in the MJHL, Drew won the MJHL Championship with Steinbach, was named an MJHL First Team All-Star, received the Frank McKinnon Memorial Trophy and was named MJHL Playoff MVP.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound forward from Denfield, Ontario would go on to spend the next four seasons with the Western Michigan University Broncos where he played 129 games, scoring 25 goals and 75 assists.
