The Steinbach Pistons are off to the second round of the MJHL McMunn & Yates Turnbull Cup Playoffs.
It took seven games for the Pistons and Flyers to decide a winner in what was an all-out battle from start to finish. After the Flyers opened the series with an overtime win on the road, Steinbach would go on to win the next three games to take a commanding 3-1 series lead.
After the Flyers won game five on the road, they would return home to to execute and win game six, forcing a series deciding seventh game.
In front of more than 1200 fans in Steinbach for game seven with the score tied at 2-2 in the third period, Warren Clark’s point shot would beat Malachi Klassen through traffic and would stand up as the game winner.
The Pistons game seven win now sets up a second round matchup with the Swan Valley Stampeders. Stay tuned for a schedule announcement.
